tres pears

I had to go back to my 10th grade French class to come up with this title. I have no idea how to say pear in French. I wish I did. I have painted three pears so many times that it is a bit hard to come up with names. Never get tired of painting three pears though. This is painted on a 5 x 7" linen canvas.
Hope your weather is not as gloomy as ours. Ugh!SOLD

  1. I had to look it up on Google Translate. Have you tried that? It's trois poires in French and tres peras in Spanish. Forgive me if I'm a nerd, I love languages. Unfortunately I speak only English.

This is a beauty, Carol. Nice and loose with great light.

Vos poires dansent la polka... et j'aime celle qui rougit... Bisous

  4. Carol,
Bella! "Beautiful" in spanish- You nail these pears so well- always great color and shapes. Your brushstrokes are looking so good.
Right next door to you with the weather- same gloom in Georgia. Come on spring:)

  7. Very, very nice. They are all the same but so different. Different shapes and different colors on each. Graded background is great. I don't see how you could have done it any better.
Gloomy weather is great for painting --indoors, of course.

  8. Thank you all for your nice comments and helping me with my French. I should have paid better attention in class. I mostly remember brushing my friend's hair and eating candy in that class.

  10. It's gloomy and icy here in Northern VA! Love your pear painting...How many languages are there in the google translator? You can do that many pear paintings, and never run out of titles...Can't wait to see the Polish pears! (My ancestory is Polish.)
