Carol's Crib

I have spent a little time straightening up my studio/garage so I thought I would let you see my space. Yes, this is as good as it gets. Impressive isn't it? I wonder if everyone decorates their garage with oil paintings? My husband enjoys the scene when he pulls his car into my studio every night? I honestly like my space. I can be as messy as I like. I have plenty of other areas in my home to paint but I like my set up. When I paint from photos I move into a study on the same level and paint from my BELOVED mac. I have only had a mac for six months but I won't go back. I use an easel that I bought from Karin Jurick on the desktop. A great easel for paintings that are not too big.
I paint still lifes in my garage. If you look amongst the clutter you will see a three sided wooden box for set ups. I have most of my still life options on the shelves in the corner. See my colorful bowls? Like to keep them close.
If you look even closer you might see Waldo. No really, don't look too closely. I spy fishing rods.

  2. Carol...thanks so much for sharing your work space...jealous of all the hanging space you have for your pieces. I am such a fair weather artist.....not sure it would be warm enough for me out there. Oh and an official big fat welcome to DPO.....so excited to have you. Your work is awesome!

  5. In the winter I put a space heater close to where I paint and a fan in the summer. The garage never gets very hot or very cold.

  7. This is great...my plan was to make my garage into a studio (or just even half of it) but I have selfish people that live here and I've yet to convince them of the space I need. (Just kidding)

  9. Love seeing "your space", looks like everyone was curious as I was about heat and cooling, but looks like you have that under control. You have been one busy lady since I first met you about a year ago...good for you, the hanging artwork looks like a gallery showing. Thanks for sharing!

  15. What a good idea using part of your garage as a studio! I have a feeling it works better in your part of North America than mine here in Canada... probably a tad warmer. Looks like you could also use this wonderful open space for an open studio sale.
Thanks for sharing your setup and welcome aboard Daily Painter Originals.

  16. How nice to see where other people create their work. I too envy your nice large space. Have to agree with you about the Mac. I've had one, the iMac for a year, also bought macbook pro in June. Never again will I suffer with a pc. Oops I'm starting to rant aren't I? Absolutely love your work, I'll be back for more.
