A little time

What I thought was going to be a big week for painting has diminished to a wee bit of time.Thought I was all set to paint after traveling and undecorating. My parents just found out that their second home in North Carolina has been flooded from a burst pipe on the THIRD floor. Headed up there in the morning to see how I can help. This is a home our whole family has had wonderful memories in for twenty years. Think it is pretty bad according to the security people. May get a chance to paint something else small today but if I am MIA for a couple of days you will understand why. This is painted on a 5 x 7" canvas.
Hoping 2011 will be a great year!!

  1. J'espère que tout ira bien pour vous et que les dégâts ne seront pas trop importants...
Cette petite soucoupe bleue apporte une grâce particulière à votre poire... la délicatesse même.
Très jolie peinture... revenez-nous vite! gros bisous.

  2. There is nothing worse than water damage. So sorry that your family has to deal with this, Carol. On the bright side, your pear is lovely, as always. I like the contrast of the cool blue dish against the warm background. Really nice! Take care.

  4. Carol,
I really like that blue plate under the gorgeous pear. You might just be one of the best pear painters out there:)
I know we emailed earlier but travel safe!

  5. Very fitting for you to paint a pair on the first day of the year, knowing your love of the fruit for a still life. Good luck with the clean up, sorry for the water mess, hope the damage isn't too bad.

  7. Great painting, and great of you to go help your parents. Yes, we will all understand if you're MIA. Dare I say it?..."There are some things that are more important than paint on canvas." There. I said it. Even so, here's to
2011 with LOTS of painting time for all of us!

  9. So sorry to hear about your parents home. We had a place we all loved that flooded from high river waters 3 times in just a short period of about 5 years. Thankfully no one ever got hurt. The clean up process is not fun. On a lighter note I love your pear and the blue plate sets it off nicely.
