testing the waters

I am posting this picture as an incentive for folks to support me in a 60 mile walk I am doing for breast cancer awareness. I am doing the Susan G Komen walk in Boston in July and I need to raise $2300.00. Every bit of the money will go to breast cancer research and local breast cancer awareness programs. All donors who contribute $20.00 or more toward my fundraising goal will have a chance to win this painting. Please feel free to donate even if you don't like the painting. You can put it in your garden to keep birds away. After two weeks have passed, I will announce the winner. Think of all of your friends and family members who have been affected by this disease and help out the cause. Donate at Susan G Komen. Thanks!
This is an 8 x 10" and is framed in a champagne colored, plein air frame.
Update:My husband drew the winner of the painting this morning. Congratulations Johnny. Thank you all for your donations!! Going to such a great cause.

  1. Carol,
Wonderful for you! Of course I will donate- will do that next. My very best forever friend/sister passed away after losing her battle. I was her chemo buddy and then primary caretaker when the leukemia came from the chemo...her daughter who I helped finish raising now works for Susan G in Atlanta. This painting is sweet and brought tears to my eyes. Simple and cherish each day in a beautiful painting! Well done on all fronts.

  2. Somehow I missed this piece, Carol. It is lovely and I hope you can raise that money. I've always wanted to do the walk as well but the fees have kept me from it. I will have to wait to payday but if I have some left over from bill paying I will gladly send it on its way!

  6. 60 miles! That's a lot...maybe we should be donating a pair of new shoes for you! Such an amazing thing you are doing and of course I'll donate for the cause and for my sister, sister in law, and many dear friends who have been stricken with this disease. Love the painting, have just the place for it (just in case)!!!!!

  7. I love, Love, LOVE this picture!!! Saw it in Fairhope at the Arts Festival. FYI, I just ran our local 5K Race for the Cure in Jackson, MS. My friend (age 34) just completed her last round of chemo (in March!!) and wanted to run the race. She formed a team (Melissa's Miracle)and several of her friends ran with her. She was the 1st survior to cross the finish line in her age category!! Amazing!! Good luck with your race. Wonderful cause!!
