one day
This painting is based on three photographs I took last weekend in New Orleans. There were a group of musicians on Royal street and the little boy was part of it. I think he was just there for the cute factor. He was holding the trumpet upside down most of the time. I think? You musicians may correct me. He looks a little older in my rendition of him. He was still wearing diapers. The background is just a loose interpretation of a building I saw. This is a large painting for me. It is painted on an 18 x 36" gallery wrap canvas.

This painting has such emotion! It makes me laugh. Wonderful movement. Nice!
ReplyDeleteOh... and thanks again for adding my blog to your blog roll. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThey look like they were quite the theatrical group. I would love to go there just to experience the music and food. (by the way it's a trombone ;)
ReplyDeleteVery fun- love the movement and colors...really like the figuratives against the loose background. Happy Easter!!
ReplyDeleteIs the little kid holding a trombone? Thought it was a trumpet. Only one in my family who is not a musician.
ReplyDeleteBisous
Great painting Carol!!! And the onions in the bowl...love those, the colors are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYes, it is a trombone. They have those sliding things. He sure does add a cuteness factor. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteFabulous series, these street musicians!
