pacified

This was supposed to be much looser than it is. ONE day I am going to get my mind right and not overwork a face.  Why can I do everything but the face loose? There is a fine line that I am trying to walk.  Just getting started.
I have an exciting artist I want to share with you.  John Kelley was one of my first oil painting teachers and he has started blogging and is showing his work on Daily Paintworks.  He is an award winning artist and is and has been in numerous galleries. He is a great teacher if you get the chance. He works with pastel and with oils.  Check his site out ......http://ontheeasel.blogspot.com/. He is offering some of his work at crazy low prices for a short while.  Don't miss out.  Check out his beautiful website at http://jkelleyart.com/sold

  1. She is a cutie indeed, Carol. Face is not too controlled or overworked at all. I like that I can see her concentration on her thoughts in this piece. As always, you've created magic with the waters beyond.

  2. J'aime l'attitude de cette petite fille jouant sur la plage. Les enfants ont ce don de décontraction facile dans leurs mouvements. J'aime ça et vous l'avez particulièrement bien capturé. Bravo!
    Gros bisous

  3. I love this, and I think you have the right amount of detail. I do the same thing with people, as well as other things. Love John's work, thanks for sharing!

  4. I love her and her sweet face. You did a wonderful job on all of it. Thanks for sharing your former teacher's link. Checked it out and enjoyed his info on just using Walnut Oil. I am heading in that direction also!
