cup and lemons

Queen Anne's Lace is blooming all over so I picked some and thought it looked nice with this blue cup.  This is painted on a 5 x 7" linen canvas.

  2. Lovely piece Carol, I particularly love the way the yellow reflecting in the cup ties it all together!

  3. Your still lifes are some of my favorites in the art world, Carol. This one comes close to the top for me. The color of that cup and its shining highlights are wonderful. Queen Anne's Lace flowers never have been a favorite of mine (I remember always seeing ants crawling over the "flower" part when I was little), but you sure made that lacy flower elegant!

  5. Queen Anne's lace is so light and delicate and not easy to capture that feeling, well done on this one! Just returned from the mountains of Tenn. and it was growing all over the place.

  6. Such an appealing arrangement. Love your lemon edges Long time ago I rode my bike across Wisconsin where Queen Ann's lace bloomed along the roadsides. Hadn't seen it before. Brings back fond memories. Lovely work.
