Finally a keeper after scrubbing three other paintings out. I think I have been on vacation too much. Not enough time at the easel. Had an opportunity to go to Florida last weekend and see some old friends. The weather was beautiful and I got some great pictures. The water was very calm and crystal blue the day I took this photo. It is painted on a 6 x 12" gallery wrap canvas.sold
This one is definitely worth the other "wipe outs". It is certainly a keeper with great color and composition, you've really captured a special mood!
ReplyDeleteI really like the range of blues you have in this painting, Carol. I can feel the calmness of the water. The girl looks so relaxed -- yes, it's a keeper!
ReplyDeleteThe blues are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIf the scrubs got you to this then they were worth it, I LOVE this one Carol! The warm skin tones against the beautiful blues are fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteUne peinture remplie de sérénité... Des bleus qui inspirent l'évasion...

ReplyDeleteLove all the different blues in this one! You are so good with skin tones and getting the highlights and shadows correct on the skin. Admire that! Really wonderful shadow by the tube!
ReplyDeleteYou rust up fast don't you?
ReplyDeleteI think painting is like dancing or gymnastics. You have to practice.

ReplyDeleteJust delightful!
ReplyDeleteThis is so great! I love that you used the same aqua of the water as the shadow on her legs. And I love the pale aqua water with the deeper shadow! Such a restful scene!
ReplyDeleteI want to BE this girl, Carol - you have made it such an appealing and powerful subject! Good for you that you got to go to FL. All work and no play, as they say...
