McCarrons

What am I doing painting all these faces? I don't paint faces.
Look at these two cuties. I am partial to red heads because my dad and two brothers have red hair. I say have because my dad is in his seventies and still has red hair. I might have more gray than him.
This painting started out with a great photo. So fun to paint even though I had to struggle with likenesses. These kiddos are eighteen and twenty one now. This is painted on a 12 x 16" gallery wrap canvas.
Happy weekend!sold

  1. Amazing painting- you do faces beautifully well! Wow! This was a tough one with a great composition. Love the smiling faces and the red hair against the blues of the water. Great painting!

  3. I HATE when I write a comment and then I click on the painting again to look at it some more and everything I wrote disappears!

Great colors in this painting, Carol, starting with the waters' edge. Great job on the whitecaps and the teal water beyond the surf. I think this may be my favorite of your beach paintings. I like how the children are in the lower right quarter of the canvas. Great composition. Love the skin tones in the children, and their faces, too. Great job!

  7. I think this is my favorite of them all so far, Carol. I too have a heart for redheads. My dad was a redhead (though he was blonde as a little guy), I was born with red hair, my oldest daughter has red hair, and my grandson has red hair. And? I've decided to finally heed everyone's advice and go back to coloring my hair and went with the lightest red I could find to make those grays blend in easier as they grow out. Anyway...

This is just gorgeous and so captures the spirit and joy of a family day trip to the beach!
