Ash

Ash belongs to my good friend's Lynn and Spin. I painted their other dog Stubby a couple of weeks ago. Spin repayed me for that by running over my mailbox. Mr. Perfect did something wrong. So glad we have something on him now. He is still pretty perfect.
Ash is a great example of why people love labs. He is loving, loyal, handsome and playful. He would fetch toys out of the water all day long. Hip replacement has not slowed him down too much.
Isn't this a great pose? He was waiting on the deck for us to come outside and play.
This is painted on a 16 x 20" gallery wrap canvas.

  10. You've so beautifully captured the perfect Lab head in Ash's portrait. He is a gorgeous boy and how could you all not run right out to play with him with that adoring look on his face?

  11. He is perfectly posed...are you sure you didn't help him? Just kidding, I have seen that same alert look on many doggie faces, waiting to see if you are thinking what they think you are thinking.

    Great painting!

  15. You captured this really well, I know that look! We just put a black lab mix down, she was very sick. We have 2 others, but there is still a big space missing in our lives. I am inspired now to paint her, soon!

  16. This is wonderful! Having been a sort of co-owner once of a black lab I am partial to them.
