Stubby

Stubby belongs to a couple that I have been friends with for a loooong time. Lynn and Spin( I know) have been friends with my husband and me from college days. Their friendship is one of those that has with stood the test of time. Love both of them and this is a gift for them. One dog down, one to go. Stubby is a VERY camera shy dog. I probably took 100 bad pictures of him. This one captures him pretty well even though he is looking away. I painted this on a 12 x 12" gallery wrap canvas.

    I love this and what a wonderful gift for your friends. I like the position that Stubby is in and you did a great job. Love his coat and that angular brush work is fabulous!

    This worked out so well, the composition really works in this square format. Is this a Rottie...we have a Rottie, wonderful dogs.

    I love how Stubby's stance is further emphasized in this square format. As always your color palette and chunky brushstrokes really makes this painting! You made me laugh at your collection of bad photos of Stubby, some pets are just like that.
