bartletts and bowls

My husband looked at my blog for the first time in a while last weekend and made a comment (to my face) that he was tired of my colorful bowls. He was in the doghouse for a few minutes. He did not understand that that was like telling me my butt was big. It's okay. He is a huge encourager of my work so I will forgive him. Not sure about the forget part. So.... in honor of my husband...I painted the bowls again. I hope he likes it.
Painted this on a 5 x 7" gallery wrap.

  1. Your bowls are almost like a signature Carolyn and your fans would miss them if you ever stopped painting them!

  6. - My husband said that too, (in love) about some of the still lifes I tended to paint so much. It makes me smile. I like your bowls because they are colorful and painterly. They are unique and they are your own personal statements. Carol, paint what you love. Those paintings are the best.

  7. Is the painting a metaphor? Dads the left pear, the bowls are the doghouse?
