This painting was inspired by what I thought was a bad photograph. When I am taking candid photographs of people and trying to be discreet I often times cut people's body parts out. This little girl had a very cute head but I like the motion and design in what was left of her body. I painted this on a larger 22 x 28" gallery wrap canvas.sold
This is fabulous! Love the energy and motion...Girl on the move with a mission...Love the way you painted that skirt- all light and shadow!!
ReplyDeleteAnother fun and whimsical painting!
ReplyDeleteJust the best cropping and volume ever! love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! The skirt and your brushstrokes in it really convey the forward movement. Lots of energy in this work!
ReplyDeleteThis little one has attitude and I love her sense of style!
ReplyDeleteprecious! i love this one! everything about it.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I am curious, do you ever do work for others? My son is 2 and my daughter is 5, we spend a ton of time at the beach and have so many pictures of them there. It's such precious family time and that combined with their ages... well it's just such fun! I would love to capture this time... is this something you do? Feel free to email me RachelRAdams@gmail.com Thanks!
Hey Carol , this is very cool!!
ReplyDeleteThe photo may not have been what you were expecting, but you turned a sow's ear into a silk purse. Those adorable, strong, legs and the skirt are a thing of beauty! Great piece, Carol....one of those that I say to myself "Wish I had painted that!"
