This painting is another commission for my friend Jeanne. This is her daughter Courtney a few years back. The reference photo was black and white so it was fun adding color to it. I am NOT a portrait artist so this is really just a likeness of Courtney. I can't imagine the stress portrait artists feel. The slightest miss can throw the whole thing off. Huge admiration but no desire. This is painted on an 8 x 10" linen panel.sold

ReplyDeleteYou always get the most gorgeous color in your waters, Carol. Courtney is adorable and I love her flowy dress. I love doing portraits but can only manage them well with a grid. Without one? I fall apart.
