really big pears

This painting was so much fun. It is painted on a 20 x 30" gallery wrap canvas. This painting started out being a very involved still life set up. I am challenging myself to paint on larger canvases. I did not stick with the challenge very long. After struggling with painting and keeping the same character as my smaller paintings I wiped it off. No likey. I liked the tones that were left on the canvas and decided to play a bit. You know I love painting pears but have never tried them on such a large area. I likey.

  3. After painting so many small paintings I find it hard to paint on larger canvases and get impatient, so I know how you feel. These pears look lovely and I think you were right to simplify the composition.

  4. 3 pears...my favorite subject. Well done and fresh. Great color and beautiful contrast with your background in all the right places.

  5. I love pears, too! They always remind me of people. The two on the right are snuggling. Great colors in this one. Radiant!
