Think I bit off more than I could chew on this one. First time painting in a few days and I chose a 2 foot by 3 foot panel. And... a picture that needed lots of editing. There were lots of challenges but in the end I think I like it.
It has been so cold here in Alabama and other places that I chose to paint a picture from a warmer time. I took this photo the week I was in Hilton Head with Karin Jurick. Loved the light hitting these two prime timers.
Carol, I remember the prime timers and you did an awesome job. Would love to see this in person! Wow, 2 feet by 3 feet- I bet looks fabulous. I painted a beach scene today also. Wishful thinking?! Stay warm!
J'aime beaucoup... Bisous
I love this painting and your style. Love the way you capture the waves. The colors are so beautiful. I wish we could beam ourselves back there for a bit.
Beautiful! Love the way you handled all the fabric, the sketchy shadow strokes and how really vibrant they are, carrying all the variety of color in the ocean to your figures. Really like the minimal-ness of the figures, their "barely-there" legs and the colors in their cast shadow. Wonderful!
Happy New Year Carol! This is beautiful, I love the quality of light that you have captured. It must be really impressive in person at such a large size!

Boy, is this a ray of sunshine on a cold and wet winter day. I'm impressed with the larger size. Great painting, Carol!
