dancing feet
What a fun time I had painting this. I hope this makes you smile as much as it makes me. I am pleased that I kept this as loose as I did. I could have thought of twenty titles for this piece. Decided on "dancing feet". I like the body posture and action portrayed. I feel like the colors around the couples feet accentuate the movement. It had rained the day I took this photo.( A friend of mine,"the rainmaker" was along. She has hampered many of our trips together.) The reflections stemmed from the wet pavement.
This is painted on an 8 x 10" gallery wrap canvas.

This is beautiful, Carol. Oh, I remember square dancing in school as a child. Brian Feldon and I were always leading the class because we were shortest and lined up by height. I felt so special. I think that gave me a love of being short.........LOL I love being in charge, too. Thanks for the smiles and wonderful memories.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun painting and full of action. If you don't watch it, you'll be teaching Karin a thing or two in Nov!
ReplyDeleteCarol, glad I could bring back some fun memories. I was the tall, awkward girl who would step on all the boys toes.
ReplyDeleteAnn, thats just blasphemy. Thanks though.
Yes, I'm smiling! Your neutral background works wonderfully with the colors in the couple, beautiful! Such a cute couple, seriously I can see and hear their feet shuffling, also love that fat wide skirt puffed up with a petticoat, very well done! I"m still smiling!
ReplyDeleteThis is a fantastic painting, Carol. I am reminded of my ex-in-laws, and in a positive way. I love that these two still dance together! And the body postures are perfection!
ReplyDeleteYou can just sense the fun relationship thru the lively brushwork!
