Millie X Two

Are you confused? I am. I have a friend who commissioned me to paint her recently deceased schnauzer. Wanted one painting for each daughter. Decided to paint these 5 x 7"'s in one shot. Set up the two canvases on the easel and got to work. Never done this before and do not think I will do it again. Really confusing. It was kind of an experiment in how differently artists can portray the same subject even when painting at exactly the same moment. I did not have any great method or strategy. Kind of jumped all over the place. {much like my everyday life.) You can see that there are differences. Don't look too long or you might get sick. Should I have posted a warning at the top?

  1. I've done this before. Is it ADD or an just an artist's thing. Anyway, both are nice paintings, I'm sure the owner(s) will enjoy them.

  2. I think you pulled it off wonderfully. It is sooooooo hard to do the same painting twice and get it perfect. As I've said before, I guess that's why they invented prints......

  5. Great little paintings. I know they will be enjoyed. I have an fine artist friend who said that when he was in art class he was working on a painting that was coming along really well and the instructor agreed, then took out a wet rag and rubbed it all off! He told him that if he could do it once, he could do again. So I guess you could go on and on.
