kendal

This is the daughter of some of our best friends.  Spin commissioned me to paint their two kids for Lynn's birthday. The kids were feeling slighted because they had paintings of their dogs but no kids.  This pose reminds me of one of my fondest memories of Kendal.  Kendal was on my twin son's tee ball team and she played a tough right field.  One day she was playing the field and was squatting facing away from the field picking wild flowers when the ball hit her in the behind.  She turned around with surprise and it took her a while to realize what the white, round thing was. She is a great, amazingly bright girl who has recently graduated with honors from Rice University and is living and looking for a job in Boston.  Wonder if the Sox need an outfielder?
This is painted on an 11 x 14" gallery wrap canvas.

  1. Carol this is my favorite of all your wonderful beach scenes. Love how the green water compliments the red stripes of her bathing suit and the shape of her head!

  2. J'aime la sérénité qui règne dans cette peinture et la quiétude de cette petite fille. On la sent perdue dans ses pensées qui sont celles du jeu avec le sable.
Vos couleurs sont très belles et l'atmosphère est formidablement bien capturée.
    gros bisous

  5. Well, if she needs an apt my son is giving up a little studio on the ground floor in Beacon Hill - affordable but not fancy!
You are an inspiration to me, with your strong compositions and good figure work! This is a great one!
