Whats for Dinner?
It's been a good day. I had so much fun painting this little 6 x8". I smiled the whole time. My son took this photo in Lijiang, China. A beautiful, rural area. This rooster was heading in the house to have dinner and watch a little TV. My son said the chickens roam freely inside and out. As beautiful as my sister's rooster, Mr Wonderful was, I know it was not allowed in the house.
So happy to report that I am making a little progress figuring my mac out. I know how to add images now so hopefully the images you see will look better. Yesterday's photo was an all time low.
I will not be posting for a little more than a week because of the trip I mentioned yesterday. I will miss you guys. Will look forward to seeing what you all have painted when I get back!

I love your work. This piece is great, has a humor to it and the detail on the wall really adds interest to it.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful, Carol! I hope you have an awesome trip too!
ReplyDeleteCarol, love this! You handled the reds really well and the rooster is perfect! Reminds me of Key West Fl where the roosters roam freely about town! Have a great trip!
ReplyDeleteHey Carol, I will miss your lovely paintings this next week. Hope you have a wonderful trip!
ReplyDeleteWhat a superb painting Carol, you managed to give that rooster bucketloads of character, bravo!
ReplyDeleteI'll have chicken I guess.
ReplyDeleteThis is great - this painting tells us a story - I love a narrative!
ReplyDeleteHow appropriate, Carol. It's as if the rooster is saying "Later, guys. I've got things to do." I love him!
ReplyDeleteHave a great trip!
carol,
ReplyDeletethis is a beautiful picture...
kerala, my place is also having chicken roaming around, but not inside the house...
they climb on trees during nights to sleep...
congrats for the picture...
I love this chicken and laughed so hard at your post. Her body language is so relaxed...just as you said...strolling in for a little snack and TV. LOL! I really like those red doors and the welcoming light inside.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great trip!
Great painting...she's on her own terms--lucky chicken! You handled this very well, and the composition is striking.
ReplyDeleteYou really captured the gesture of this chicken...wonderful color and composition, I love it!
ReplyDeleteHi Carol I will echo all of the above comments. This is a great piece, it made me smile. I love the rolling gait of the rooster, so full of character!
