I have a great husband who is very tolerant of pulling the car over on trips so that I can photograph things I want to paint. I photographed these cows in south Alabama on my way back from the beach a couple of weeks ago. Love the markings on the brown and white cow and I like the way they form a right angle. I have a huge fasination with cows. I think they are beautiful animals and I would love to know what they were thinking. "Why is she taking my picture? Her husband must be very tolerant."
This is painted on an 8 x 10" canvas.sold
Great painting, I like the combination of weight in the paint application. I also like thinking about your commentary, I do believe that's what these cows are indeed thinking.
ReplyDeleteLove the painting and the thick application of paint! Good job. We share a great name, By the way!
Gros bisous
Wow the color and light are fabulous in this piece!! Love the sky color also, just great!
ReplyDeleteI like cows, and these ones are so expressive!very nice!
ReplyDeleteI love it! It's extra fun to paint something you love, and it shows in your work.
ReplyDeletelove their expression, Carol. I do believe you read their minds.

Carol,
ReplyDeleteYour work always makes me smile! The wonderful way you express light, the rich colors and delightful subject matter always uplift me!
Such crisp and intelligent cows!!!!
ReplyDeleteCarol, your cows are THE BEST!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous painting, Carol. One of my favorites. Love that abstracted ground. Cows do have the most beautiful and soulful eyes, don't they?
ReplyDeleteAlways love your cows! These are gorgeously painted with lots of thick juicy paint. Love the angles of them but it is their faces that I just adore. Funny commentary and I find myself wondering what cows around here are thinking when I pull off the road to get their photo too:) Love this one!
ReplyDeleteFabulous cows!
ReplyDeleteYou captured the light on this critters so well. Very nice painting.
ReplyDeleteAnother of your great cow paintings! I am fascinated by them all. The abstract like background and heavier paint in the foreground is very interesting.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I have GOt to paint some cows! I know I won't do them justice like you, but everytime you post one of your paintings, I always think about using all those photos I have of cows! Great job and kudos to your sweet hubby!
ReplyDeleteLove the abstract quality of this . . . the thick white paint on the one cow and muted field green grays. I love your cows and do love cows myself. I don't know . . . maybe it's a woman thing?
ReplyDeleteOh Carol, you paint the best cows! I have a sweet hubby too who is really good about stopping to let me photo something. He even sat out on the cliffs along the California coast on several occasions while I painted. We are lucky gals! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat lights!
ReplyDeleteCarol, this is so nice! What is the trick to getting your husband to pull over? Mine won't even stop for a bathroom break! I shall have him read this!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy, Eileen
