This 6 x 18"canvas size is a perfect stage for my Boston ladies. First time to paint on this size. My camera does not like this long size as well. Kind of blurred out the lady on the right.
Still wondering about the hands on the hips thing. Are their arms tired? Maybe trying to hide love handles? I think the one hand on the hip on the lady on the left looks very glamorous. What are you thoughts?sold
I love them and it makes me want to go out and take photos of ladies on the beach so I can paint them too! Just great postures and wonderful compositions you have with them!
Oh my... you've certainly captured these seniors ladies on the beach. Iove this size too! Sometmes it is just so nice to have a panoramic perspective! You've done some wonderful work while I've been away from blogging... getting ready for our show. I am back now and will try to catch up!
Carol, You always give me a much needed laugh. I am thinking this is a toss up between tired arms and hiding those love handles!? Love them all and appreciate that they are out there in their bathing suits with confidence! Keep these coming= they are awesome!
I'm enjoying looking at your work. I just have to jump in and answer the question about hands on the hips. I'm uncomfortable without pockets for my hands; in a bathing suit I'd probably put my hands on my hips.
These ladies are so fun Carol, you really captured the stoop of their posture! I love your poodle below too!!
ReplyDeleteNice and fun painting!
ReplyDeleteWhat a bevy of bathing beauties! Love that narrow canvas too. Hands on hips? Gearing up for battle? Hmmm...
ReplyDeleteFascinating work.

ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun, playful piece Carol. Love how neutral you kept the water so the colorful swimsuits has a place to shine.
ReplyDeleteHi Carol!! I met you at Art in the Park and I have to say your full figured gals are my absolute fave!! Truly they are fabulous! Ruthie Carlson
