I might have broken some rules with this composition. Whatever. I like it. This is probably my favorite lady that I photographed in Boston. You have seen her in earlier paintings. She has obviously gotten to that comfortable place in life where you don't really care what you look like in a bathing suit anymore. No bottom, breasts down to your navel and protruding stomach. I'm glad I'm not there yet but I hope I can be this proud when I am. This is painted on a 6 x 6" gallery wrap canvas.

Love it.
ReplyDeleteGood for you for breaking the rules; a job well done! I have thoroughly enjoyed these Boston ladies and look forward to many, many more...broken rules and all.
ReplyDeleteCarol, of all these beach paintings this is my favorite. The composition, though not traditional and outside "the box" has a narrative that I find very interesting! I'm curious too how you know her name? Really great job!
ReplyDeleteTo heck with the rules if this is the result, love it!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous beach waters and rules are made to be broken they say. I like the asymmetry of the composition. And I'm with you on the aging thing. Alas, I'm probably closer to looking like this lady than I am the slim number I used to be. Sigh...
ReplyDeleteLove Eula and think she would appreciate being part of a wonderful rule breaking painting. This is fabulous. Catchs you right away. You rock painting this ladies and just love them!!
ReplyDeleteLove the composition! The positioning gives depth to the ocean as well as creating a very contemporary feel. Wonderful job on the figure! And good for her for letting it all hang out!
ReplyDeleteI love her! I love all of your beach ladies. Makes me want to make a beach trip to find some of these too! And as you have heard before, rules are made to be broken! haha! Wonderful example of that here!
ReplyDeleteWhen did you take this photo of me?!!!! Caught me on the beach again..... xoxoxo-love it!!
ReplyDeleteCarol-this rocks! (Can you tell I have teenagers?) The composition creates a wonderful tension in the piece. I love the vast space behind her. Your description is priceless!
ReplyDeleteLove the body language and the composition as well as the abstract ocean. Love, love, love
