I agonized over what to paint a couple of weeks after traveling in Asia. I felt guilty that I did not come home and start painting elephants, rice fields, or other things I was exposed to for the first time. I eventually got over it and have now come to realize what was the most beneficial for me from my trip. It was being away from my studio and not painting for a month or so! I needed a break from it. Not everything I do in my life has to relate to my painting. Sometimes you just do things for the fun and experience of it.
I am pretty happy with some things that I have painted since getting back in the studio. So.....if you have the luxury of this....take some time to smell the roses. They smell pretty good.
This piece is painted on a 20 x 40 x 2" canvas. The colors shown here are not a great representation.
I will be in Marietta, GA this Saturday, Sunday and Monday for Art in the Park. It is held in the town square and the hours are 10-5 each day. My booth number is 150.
Beautiful Carol! So glad you got to get away and reflect on life.
ReplyDeleteOh these little ones would make anyone smile! Nice to get some R & R. Glad you were able to do so.
