a lovely ride

Was just listening to James Taylor's "the secret of life" and boy did the words speak to me.  I have had a hard time getting back into painting after being away and have been ultra critical of what I am working on. Particularly this 30 x 40 x 2" piece.  The lyrics "try not to try too hard" and "enjoy the ride" were some words I needed to hear today and several days ago. I wish I knew how to add a song to my blog.

My upcoming shows are as follows:

Marietta,GA Art on the Square Sept 3, 4 and 5

Montesano Art Festival in Huntsville, AL Sept 17 and 18

Bluff Park Art Show in Birmingham, AL Oct 1

Telfair Art Festival in Savannah, GA Nov 11, 12 and 13

Brentwood Academy Art show in Nashville, TN Dec 2, 3 and 4

  1. The colors of the fruit sing beautifully next to those gorgeous neutrals.
You are one busy lady. I looked at your schedule - wow!

I enjoyed reading about the exotic sounding paces you went to on your trip. Hope you share more.

  2. Love ol' James. Great line up ahead of you! I'll see you at BA! (and not to worry, this piece is gorgeous!)

  3. Gorgeous painting! Yay you for an amazing schedule full of wonderful shows!

  4. A very beautiful piece Carol! You certainly have a full schedule....wish I can make it to see your work in person!!!!

  5. Carol so good to see a wonderful painting. I wish I was close enough to come to a show. You were my first inspiration to paint and still love seeing your work. I paint everyday but nothing to sing about. Keep the beautiful work coming!!

  6. Hi Carol: I saw your beautiful work for the first time at recent show in Asheville - I'm a big fan and glad to be linked into your blog and be able to follow your work!

  7. Thanks everyone for your encouragement! I really appreciate your taking the time to comment!
