family ties

This is a commission piece for a family who has black angus on their farm.  It is challenging to paint angus because of their dark color.  I like them against the colors in the background.  This is painted on a 20 x 24" canvas.

I have one more commission piece that I am almost finished with and then I am not accepting any more until May.  Hate to do that but I need to focus on painting for upcoming shows.

I have a workshop at my home this coming weekend and then again in February.  I am looking forward to meeting some new folks and spending time with some of my favorite peeps who are coming back for more.sold

  1. A very peaceful scene, Carol, and the bold, black color of the Angus really sets it off. Black is a difficult color to paint to try to show the shifts in value, but, boy, did you ever get it right. I hope you have a wonderful new year, Carol, with much success in your art and much happiness in your life!

  2. What lovely cows. As I look at them I find my self remembering how much I enjoyed your workshop....One of the best I have attended I would say.

  3. Carol,
This was such a great birthday surprise. We can't wait to hang it in our new home. Thank you for the fantastic painting! You did an amazing job and it truly resembles the farm.

  4. Thanks Carol and Angela! So kind.

So glad you are happy with your painting Brandi. I did not know it was a birthday surprise. Happy Birthday!
