it don't come easy

I am a huge Patty Griffin fan and this title was inspired by her song, "when it don't come easy".  She is coming to Birmingham in July and I have tickets.  Very excited!
This is painted on a 30 x 40 x 2" canvas.
I have one more show and it is in two weeks in Huntersville, NC.  It is the Lake Norman Art Festival July 24 and 25th.  Come see me if you are in the Charlotte area.sold

  3. Hi Carol. I love following your art. Question, HOW do you get single strokes on the pedals on a 30 x 40 canvas? What size brush makes that stroke? I'm acrylic, not oil so maybe if I was oil I would understand. Have a great show. Katie

    1. Thank you Katie. I use rosemary brushes and I like the ivory long flats. When I move to larger canvases, I move to larger brushes. 12 and 14 sizes. Also palette knives from time to time. I go back at the end of the painting and try to make it look more effortless by adding a few larger strokes. Get rid of a lot of the little shapes. Best of luck to you!
