good hair day

I am off and running with commissions.  This particular patron has graduated from me painting her family's dogs to painting their children.  This is a painting of her nephew.  His eyelashes and hair make him pretty enough to be a girl.
I travelled to Savannah, GA last week to participate in the  annual Telfair Museum Art Show. It was my first time to visit Savannah and it was quite a treat.  I made some new artist and patron friends.  Happy to say that lots of my paintings have new homes.sold

  2. Beautiful, Carol. I am mesmerized by how you painted his hair - love it! And why do boys get those fabulous lashes anyway? LOL

  3. Carol, what an absolutely beautiful painting. It appeals to me in every way--the beach, the smocking, the beautiful child, and his wonderfully curly hair. You have painted the scene to perfection. I was in the needlework industry for fifteen years and wrote many books on smocking and duplicate stitch. And I live next door to Savannah. If I had known you were going to be there, I would have come to see you. When are you going to teach a workshop so that I can attend and learn from you?

  4. Sorry Jerry! I did not have time to even mention I was going to Savannah on my blog. I plan on going back next year.
Let me get this first January workshop under my belt and I will probably plan more.
Thanks for the compliments and your interest!
