vidalia 3

I recently came home to a bag of sprouty vidalias.  It was fun to get back to my roots and paint a still life.  It is a treat to paint from a live model even if they are smelly onions.  This is painted on a 5 x 7" linen panel.

  1. The subtle blues in the bowl really work well with the warmer tones in the onions.

  2. Hah! LOLOL "Back to my roots!" Get it? I really like the smell of onions though. Quite a lovely piece with the variations of onion skin tones against the background. I think this is masterful, Carol!

  5. Nice painting. I like especially your shadows and skin tones. Also agree the cool blue dish works well with your warms.

  7. Each color note has it's own little shape. Like stained glass. Lovely.
