apples and cherries

I decided I needed to put cherries in the title because you might not be able to identify them otherwise.  Anyone know the name of the cherries that are yellow and red?  Red and yellow cherries?
I had so much fun painting this today.  I listened to my neighbor's band "Act of Congress".  So good!   The first day we moved into our apartment we met this cute, young couple with identical twin boys that are 18 months old.  Seeing these little ones makes me so happy and brings back fun memories.  The Dad is in "Act of Congress" and I just downloaded two of their albums to my i tunes account.  I am always listening to music and so I  am glad to discover them.  I wish I was saavy enough to add a couple of their songs to my blog. Go to i tunes  and you can listen to samples of their music.
This is painted on a 5 x 7" linen canvas.sold

  4. Oh wow, Carol! I think you managed one of the few food pieces that I just adore. It is exquisite and the palette most wonderful. I don't know the name of those cherries either but feel it is right on the tip of my tongue!

  5. Gorgeous brushwork and harmony on this one. Really pretty. Love the cherries and they are called Bing Cherries. I like them too for the softer colors. And...they are yummy!

  6. I always enjoy seeing what you are up to Carol. This paiting is so well done -- love the loose brushwork, and your warm color palette. You make it look so easy! I have to disagree with Kathy. Bing cherries are dark red; these red and yellow ones are called "Rainier". They are sweet and delicious. Birds love them, but they are sensitive to weather conditions. They are also expensive! Thanks for the tip on "Act of Congress" -- I will check them out.
