starsky and hutch

We had a bit of sunshine yesterday after several days of rain or gloom so I headed out of the city with my camera. Drove for a while before I found a beautiful field of cattle. These two calves were hanging pretty close. Got some great pictures to work from. Loved the markings on the dark calf. More to come!
I painted this on a 12 x 12" gallery wrap canvas. I think the rough texture of the canvas added to the character of this piece.
Have a great weekend.sold

  2. Wonderful painting with fun title. I really like how you painted the background which makes the focus be right on Starsky and Hutch. They would have wanted it that way. Love the cows faces:)

  11. Your entry in the DPC, is what helped me find your blog. I love the color and layering and use of the palette for texture and edges. This painting of two calves has the same sense of ease yet investigation. Your painting style is great!
