a little swagger

Took the reference photo for this painting this weekend in New Orleans. One of the first things I do when I return from trips is to enter my photos on to my computer. Always so exciting.
It was a beautiful and cool weekend in New Orleans. Got to share the sights and FOOD with my husband and two of my sons. I have said it before but New Orleans has breath taking sights. The architectural details on the homes and buildings is incredible. Beautiful place to visit.
I painted this on a 6 x 12" cradled panel.

  4. I like your the size of your support - perfect for this young musician!

New Orleans is one of my favorite places! My middle son and daughter-in-law got their law degrees from Tulane so we have visited many times and enjoyed all the city has to offer! :-)

  7. I love this piece, Carol. I am so interested by this little guy having the nerve to put on that hat and carry that big trombone in public, yet be so shy when he notices someone looking. I've never been to New Orleans and my only interest would be that architecture and the cemeteries. The Mardi Gras history has never been a draw for me.

  9. Carol...you captured a lot in this one....I like it. I have to admit, I am hoping you don't take too large of a hiatus from cows...I adore the way you paint them.
