sunflower in amber

Saw this amber glass at my sister in laws this weekend so I swiped it. Always on the lookout for something new. I have been so busy lately that I have had to work hard to fit painting in. May not be posting for a couple of days because I am taking my mother in law on a get away. Heading up to North Carolina. Will try to do some plein air but I am not sure the weather is going to cooperate. this is painted on a 5 x 7" linen canvas.SOLD

  1. This is such a nice painting, Carol. I especially like your choice of objects/color and the way they are arranged. Love the light on the highest orange rind...backed by your darkest dark. Dramatic!

  2. Your sure brush strokes make your painting bold and unfussed over. Just great, Carol.

  3. I like the play of light and shadow in this painting, Carol. The flower is part in shadow and part in light--very striking! And I love how the light hits the orange slice.

I know what you mean about wanting to borrow things to paint!
