A walk in the Park

It feels good to get a painting under my belt. First time back since being in Kentucky. So...I paint a scene from China. Makes sense to me. My son took lots of great photos and this is loosely based on one. Lots of editing. This one might not be finished but it is for now. I have a few photos from my Kentucky trip that I might try to paint.
It sure was fun looking at all my artist friend's blogs when I got back. Felt like Christmas opening up your blogs and seeing what you had painted while I was away.

  1. You've outdone yourself, Carol. The composition is excellent, as is the feeling of movement in the men. Just brilliant! I can't wait to see what else you come up with from that pile of photographs!

  2. This is a great painting to return to after your absence from the easel. Love the composition with so much of the foreground in view. Don't know how much editing you did, but the looseness of your brushstrokes are right on!

  4. Hi Carol, love your work. Happened upon your name through another blog I follow and glad I came to visit. I am a self-taught artist, poet, and amateur photographer. I have three blogs; one for my art, one for photography, and the Carmichael Chronicles (for Carol & Michael) for my stories and poetry. Hope you'll stop by for a peek. Nice to make your acquaintance.

  8. This reads so wonderfully with an efficiency of brush strokes in the figures and even the flowers...well done Carol!

  9. This is fabulous! Love the wet cement these men are walking on; just after a rain? Judging by the umbrella in the guy bringing up the rear, I would say so. Beautiful work, Carol!

  11. Love this! Your composition is wonderful with the three people walking in the park. Your colors are nice, especially in the gray sidewalk.
